Received applications:

In July 333 applications with request to disburse the child support when one of the parents avoids supporting his/her child were received in the Fund Administration

In total 1992 applications on disbursement of child support for children were received since the beginning of this year.

Decisions on termination of the disbursement of child support:

In July 266 decisions were issued on termination of the disbursement of child support. In total 1448 decisions were issued on termination of the disbursement of child support since the beginning of current year. In 293 cases a debtor himself started to provide minimum amount of child support.

Amount of disbursed child support:

In July the Fund Administration disbursed child support in the amount of 651075 lats, but since the beginning of the year the Fund Administration had disbursed child support in the total amount of 4.430 million lats.

Amount of the recovered child support:

In July the amount of recovered child support was 997662 lats (15.32 percent of the amount of child support disbursed in July).

Since the beginning of the year 679855 lats were recovered in total (that is, 14.67 percent of the amount of disbursed child support since the beginning of this year).

Disbursement of child support:

The Maintenance Guarantee Fund disburses child support to children in case one of the parents does not fulfill his/her obligations towards the child and avoids to pay maintenance.

The Fund Administration disburses child support in a minimum amount determined by the Cabinet of Ministers, but not more than the amount specified in the court adjudication. Since January 1st, 2008 the minimum amount of child support for each child until the age of 7 years is 40 lats, but for child from the age of 7 years until the age of 18 years – 48 lats.

In July child support was paid to 15540 children.

Debtors:

14128 debtors who avoid to pay maintenance to their children were registered in the Fund Administration at the end of July.
