International Cooperation: Since 2007 in the Administration of the Maintenance Guarantee Fund (hereinafter Guarantee Fund) a new structural unit has been established - the Department of International Cooperation. The main tasks of the Department in the area of international cooperation are to provide and take measures concerning the implementation of the Hague Convention on the International Recovery of Child Support and other forms of Family Maintenance (hereinafter Hague Convention) and the Proposal for the Council Regulation on jurisdiction, applicable law, recognition and enforcement of decisions and cooperation in matters relating to maintenance obligations (hereinafter Regulation project), as well as to organize international cooperation in the area of child support recovery. Guarantee Fund ensures representation in the meetings of the Council of the European Union Committee on Civil Law Matters (Maintenance obligations) and in the Sessions of The Hague Conference on Private International Law concerning the elaboration of Hague Convention and Regulation project. Both international instruments are directed to ease the process of child support recovery in cross-border cases. It is intended to create a system of cooperation between Central Authorities in each country, to provide efficient measures to enforce support orders and to establish mechanisms for the recognition and enforcement of maintenance decisions.
